Palmwoods covers an area of 23.9 km2 and has a population of 5,676 residents (2016 Census). There has been welcomed new growth in the area over the recent years with several new estates being established.

The Palmwoods train station which connects Brisbane to Gympie makes it a very convenient commute for workers and travellers in Southeast Queensland. Being centrally located on the Sunshine Coast residents can quickly access most shops, services, and amenities.
Whether it be travelling up to Melany for some wine and local delicacies, taking the family for a swim to one of the many gorgeous beaches on a summer’s day or heading out for some fine dining or shopping therapy, Palmwoods has you covered.
In Palmwoods township there are many popular cafes, restaurants, boutique shops and watering holes, including the Palmwoods Pub and Ricks Garage Diner, that welcome many tourists come the weekend.

The Palmwoods State Primary School, established in 1889, has approximately 500 students. There are several childcare centres locally and for senior students, we are a stone through away from some of the best schools on the Sunshine Coast.
