Montville Village and Hinterland

Montville is a picturesque village in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, just 90 minutes north of Brisbane and 45 minutes southwest of Noosa. We are centrally located on the Sunshine Coast, just a 30-minute drive to Maroochydore and beaches

The hinterland is renowned for its beauty, spectacular views, romantic getaways and unique village architecture, housing a bustling retail industry. Montville and its surrounds are also home to many artisans: painters, potters, jewellery makers, chocolatiers, fudge makers, furniture makers and restorers, cheese makers, photographers, chefs, viticulturists and of course baristas to name a few. Montville has three art galleries just on Main Street alone. There’s a wide variety of experiences available to ensure you are truly satisfied. There is a reason why Montville is called Montville Artisan Village. Look for the brand when shopping so you know you are buying a local artisanal product.

Local Parks and Walking Tracks

There are several local parks and walking tracks around Palmwoods Township. Probably one of the most popular hangouts is Kolora Park also known by locals as the Palmwoods Duck Pond. There is a short walk around the pond which forms part of the historic Buderim Palmwoods Heritage Tramway Walk. In town, you will enjoy the Piccabeen Green a newly established space next to the Town Hall where you can sit and enjoy a coffee from one of the nearby cafes. Heading towards Montville there is Federation Park. Here there is a bunch of activities for all ages. Paynter Creek boards the park and is a great habitat for a variety of trees and animals. There are also BBQ facilities, a children’s play area, a dog park, a fitness circuit, and wide-open green spaces to kick around a ball. Scattered throughout the town there are many other pathways that can have you circuit the entire area of Palmwoods within an hour. There are many smaller parks some of which feature ponds, basketball half-court, and children’s play areas.
